Aglaia Trio-Programmes-A Musical Journey Through Spain

A Musical Journey Through Spain is a dramatised family concert performed by the Aglaia Trio, based on a text written by novelist and playwright Eduardo Jáuregui. The Aglaia Trio premiered the work in May 2016 in the Paco de Lucía Auditorium of Alcobendas, as part of a concert cycle organised by the City of Alcobendas Foundation. Written for children from 8 years onwards, A Journey through Spain explores with drama and humour the themes of Spanish cultural diversity, exile and the importance of music as a universal language.

A Journey through Spain takes its audience on a journey through the different regions and languages of Spain. Throughout the performance, Gudrun O interprets a descendant of a Sephardic family exiled from Spain in 1492, who decides to return to the country to see for herself what remains of her ancestors’ culture. During her journey, she meets a number of different people with whom she shares music and experiences.

A Journey through Spain includes music written by Federico García Lorca, Graciano Tarragó, Francisco Javier Jáuregui, Eduardo Morales-Caso and Gerónimo Giménez.
