Aglaia Trio-Programmes-The Religion of Love

This programme is inspired by the poem "Taryumân al-ashwâq" ("The Interpreter of Desires") by the Arabic and Andalusian poet Ibn Arabí (1165-1240), which refers to the necessity of following the universal religion of love. The concert includes works inspired from the Islamic, Judaic and Christian traditions, and explores the themes of peace, love and faith - highlighting the importance for spirituality and religion to bring people together rather than divide. The concert includes “A Cradle Song” by Uzbek composer Polina Medyulyanova (based on William Blake´s poem), “Llama de Amor viva” ("Flame of Living Love"), by Spanish National Composition prize-winner David del Puerto (based on a text by San Juan de la Cruz), and  “El Amor es mi Fé” ("Love is my Faith") by Francisco Javier Jáuregui (based on Ibn Arabí's poem "The Interpreter of Dreams"). The concert also includes pieces by John Dowland and Joaquín Rodrigo.
